OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion bootable USB

Recommended Posts

I have installed this OS from USB and the chameleon bootloader. I have not done anything regarding DSDT/smbios/etc

The OS boots from the USB, but not from the laptop HDD.

Wireless and laptop touchpad do not work, and the system keeps giving me a message to find a bluetooth keyboard.

What are the appropriate kexts to install? Please guide me through the process as per my specific hardware

Can I triple boot Ubuntu-Mac-Windows with the GRUB bootloader?

How do I mark my Windows partition as a boot partition?

Got your torrent for Mountain Lion USB for PC.

I tried making bootable USB through both SUSE Studio and Win32 Image Writer from Windows.

Both wrote successfully, but when I try to boot the USB, it doesn't boots. Normal bootloader appears after a few seconds.

Please help :?

P.S:

USB is at top in Boot Order. Already tried switching SATA to AHCI from IDE.

Dual boot Windows 7 + Ubuntu 12.04 system.

Bootloader: GRUB

Model: HP CQ 420

Motherboard: Intel Mobile 4 Series

Cannot try DVD, my DVD-ROM doesn't works.

Thanks for your suggestion. Will try that.

I just want xcode running, nothing else. Couldn't get much performance in VMware that's why going for a hackintosh dual boot.

Actually I want a triple boot. ML + Win7 + Ubuntu. (same order, GRUB last)

Any warnings or suggestions about triple boot?

hi

but if u want to boot, the installer

remove from system/library/extensions

appleintelhd*.kext all of them

Sorry but it didn't worked :(

First I removed:

System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHDGraphics.kext

System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext

But it didn't helped

Then I removed these too:

System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHDGraphicsGA.plugin

System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHDGraphicsVADriver.bundle

But again no help. Didn't worked in any case.

It still pauses for 2 seconds and then GRUB continues.

I hope everything is OK with the USB and files that were written to USB.

remove all appleintelhd*.kext

and boot

-f GraphicsEnabler=No

to see where it stop

Sorry, but it doesn't boots at all. I have already removed all appleintelhd*.kext.

There is just a black screen for 2 seconds and then my normal bootloader.

My issue is that the USB isn't booting at all, although it is at the top in boot-order and I have also tried selecting it manually from the boot device list.

I can only try commands when I get a boot prompt or something. But all I get is my normal bootloader.

Got USB booting. Burned file to USB through linux command line and set up USB partitions.

I have some questions:

remove all appleintelhd*.kext and boot
1. Is it necessary to remove them or just precautionary for my system with only GMA 4500MHD graphics. I tried booting without deleting them and it booted.

2. Is it possible to install OS X keeping my current OS intact (Win7+Ubuntu 12.04 dual-boot) with GRUB being the default boot loader? Most guides on the internet advice to install OS X first, then win7 and then ubuntu/linux.

Hi,

I am trying to install install OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion bootable USB, and using Wait=Yes i can see it stops at System/Library/Extension/TMSafety.kext/Contents/MacOs

then a black screen appears and it doesn't change.

I already used TransMac to remove all ATI, AppleIntelHD, AppleIntelSNB, and NVDA kexts and tried to write many comands such as GraphicsEnabler=No, -f, -x, -s

My components:

Intel Pentium D 935 CPU 3.20GHz

Mainboard: ASUS P5B-Deluxe P965/G965

RAM: Kingston PC2-6400 CL6 DDR2 2047MB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB

HD: 250GB (I had Windows XP and I formated my HD with Gparted to HFS+, its cleaned now)

BIOS: Version 0711, Date 09/29/2006 (in the BIOS menu I set my SATA HD as AHCI in stead of IDE)

Can anyone help me finding the problem? How can i solve this? I am a little sceptic that my Processor can't handle this installation...

Thanks for the answers.

Well I am sure my Pentium D supports 64-bits. I think the problem resides somewhere in other aspects of its architecture, in combination (maybe) with a BIOS that needs to be "replaced".

First, I will buy an alternative, more compatible processor, a Core 2 Duo.

If I succeed installing Mountain Lion with this new feature, I will tell you. If so, it means the problem is the old processor and we can be sure that pentium D 935 can't support Mountain Lion, and people with a processor like my own don't need to waste time trying to install it.

Hi, thanks for the release, having an issue though.

Acer Aspire V3 -571g

i5 2450m, intel HD3000/nVidiaGT630m - graphics set to integrated in bios, 4GB ram

I installed fine but when I try to load I am getting a few different errors or hangs when trying to load the HDD on which ML is installed.

1. -f -F

2. -f

Loads to http://imgur.com/0vnvB

When I press enter it loads to

http://imgur.com/48bhl <-- unresponsive from here, no HDD activity

3. GraphicsEnabler=No -f -F

Loads to http://imgur.com/NIdqA <-- unresponsive from here, no HDD activity

I used TransMac to remove the video kext and reinstalled on a different drive which loads to

Any help would be appreciated, thanks again for the release.
