Hi,

I finally succeeded with hackintoshing my Zenbook. Almost everything works with some minor problems. Need your help the get these fixed

Asus Zenbook UX303LA-R4343H

CPU: Intel I7 5500U

Sadly it is not maintained anymore. There are different versions with different problems.

Important: with AsusNBFnKeys.kext it crashes. You don't need AsusNBFnKeys.kext

ApplePS2SmartTouchPad has support for touchpad + keyboard build in. Currently I'm using SmartTouchpad v4.7 beta 5.zip as a base as this seems to work best for my setup. On some the prefpane works but the features not really. On some 4 finger pinch works, but normal scrolling doesn't. Really strange behavior. What helps is opening the kext package and exchanging the keyboard with the one best working. There are a lot of options to play with, I haven't found the really perfect ones yet:

Currently this works:

- Touch click

- Touch drag

- 3 Finger touch -> right click

- 4 finger swipe: change desktop views

- Scrolling with 2 fingers vertical and horizontal/ Edge scroll

Does not work:

- Zoom pinch

- 3 fingers backwards/forwards swipe (maybe configuration problem)

Keyboard:

Together with Karabiner Elements, German Layout works as well as direct function keys. Display Brightness, Volume etc

Sound

Works perfect with

Clover Configurator -> Devices -> Audio -> Inject "28" and disabled _DSM to XDSM

With geekbench I get 3165 Single core and 5996 multi core which is more ore less the same as in Windows.

I didn't do this from the guide "SSDT.aml CPU power management. You will create this after installation with ssdtPRGen.sh.

For what excatly would I need this when currently almost everything works fine?

Problems

- Disabling CSM in Bios only works when setting Clover to 1024x768 Resolution

- That obviously looks ugly and the apple logo first ist stretched and unsharp, then with some weird display flashing it changes to the correct resolution and when booted everything works fine. This is only an esthetics problem but would be nice to have it fixed.

- Keyboard backlit doesn't work because I need a special hotpatched ssdt for that

- Can someone help me there and generate one that will work with the other SSDT-BATT.aml, SSDT-DEBUG.aml, SSDT-HACK.aml, SSDT-PNLF.aml hotpatches?

- Sometimes touchpad scrolling stops working and a restart of the pc is necessary. Can I restart the kext or something to reset it when it stopped working instead of rebooting everything?

When lid is closed and laptop falls to sleep somethings it reboots and hangs in clover (with temperature rising) How can I this? Is this a problem because I didn't to the SSDT Power Management fix? Here is the crash log:

wow, how did you make AsusNBFnKeys and ApplePS2SmartTouchPad boot together without panic? nice.

Now the real FN keys work with the Volume Mute Down and Up. Before I only could use the context button or the direct ones with karabiner.

Dimming the Display Backlit however doesn't work with FN + f5 f6 or any Fx else. with the karabiner settings it works though.

Attached the new send.me files. I booted from USB clover with your settings but the run.me copied the efi from the harddrive.

yes, both work. display illumination works better than I had it before. Now I can make it brighter and darker than before.

but keyboard illumination still doesn't work.

Should the keyboard backlight be on by default? Or is there a terminal command or something to change it if the function keys are the problem and not triggerin it right?

back up ur clover folder, download .txt patch and apply with MacIasl

do I apply it to your patched DSDT.aml (and convert that to.dsl wie iasl before? Or use the origin DSDT.aml from Clover -> F4?

I suppose adding it to the already patched one is not possible? so I would have to start over and also do all patches you did?

when I open the /efi/clover/acpi/patched/dsdt.aml with MaciASL (this Version https://Olarila.com/files/Utils/MaciASL.app.zip)

Nothing opens.

When I open /efi/clover/origin/patched/dsdt.aml and patch this, then all of your patches are missing, correct?

and when I compile it says this:

doesn't work. I open your MaciASL --> file open -> efi/clover/acpi/patched

and nothing happens. Under Window there is no file opened.

Rightclick open with MaciASL also does nothing.

When I open the acpi/origin it opens the window were I can apply patches.

don't know wtf is wrong on my laptop. It just doesn't want to open the DSDT.aml.

Tried it on my PC now with the same MaciASL and it worked..

Can you tell me what patches you applied to the DSDT so that I can reproduce it and learn?

Now only two minor problems that I know of so far remain:

the CSM 1024x768 bug and the non working zoom with the trackpad.

do you have any idea there?

- Disabling CSM in Bios only works when setting Clover to 1024x768 Resolution

- That obviously looks ugly and the apple logo first ist stretched and unsharp, then with some weird display flashing it changes to the correct resolution and when bootet everything works fine. This is only an esthetics problem but would be nice to have it fixed.

When I set Clover to 1920 x 1080 then this happens after booting:

The trackpad zoom not working seems to be a known problem. When I do the zoom guesture the trackpad generates "+" and "-" keypresses. If I could modulate those to "command" "+" and "command" "-" it maybe could work a bit?

But 1024x768 resolution as a workaround kinda sucks. Is there no chance to fix it and have FULL HD Clover and Boot Logo and System without glitches?

when clover resolution is set to 1024x768 (and clover looks ugly and the apple logo first till it switches) then the glitch is like in the .mp4 file in between the apple logo booting. and then everything is good.

When I set clover to FULL HD (and clover looks nice and sharp) then it totally kills it, like in the last screenshot and it doesn't work after booting.
