Lenovo Thinkpad t480s, Mojave

Recommended Posts

Hi, I installed Olarila ISO image for Mojave unsing Clover Vanilla Guide. Afterwards I used this EFI

--NOTEBOOKS CHIPSET SERIES SKYLAKE+ (SKYLAKE / KABYLAKE / COFFEELAKE / WHISKEYLAKE / COMETLAKE)

and the video patch for "-HD620 and 630 8th"

Hope, this selection was correct?!

I use a Lenovo Thinkpad T480s with

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8250U 4 x 1.6 - 3.4 GHz, Kaby Lake Refresh
  • Graphics adapter: Intel UHD Graphics 620, Core: 1100 MHz
  • Memory: 8 GB + 16 GB , DDR4-2400
  • Display: 14 inch 16:9, 2560 x 1440 pixel 210 PPI, LP140QH2-SPB1, IPS, glossy: no
  • Mainboard: Intel Kaby Lake-U iHDCP 2.2 Premium PCH
  • HDD: Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2, 500 GB
  • Wifi/Bluetooth replacement: Broadcom BCM94352Z DW1560

I hope, regarding this spec, my choice regarding EFI-folder and video patch was correct?

Attached I add my RunMe output.

The following problems I can see:

  1. video flickering during boot process
  2. Bluetooth not working
  3. LAN-adapter not working
  4. Battery indicator not showing up
  5. USB-ports seem to be extremly slow (data transfer)
  6. No sound device showing up.

I would be very happy about your support and thank you in advance ;-)

Hi MaLd0n, thanx for the fast reply ;-)

So, is the EFI I used OK?

Tried to update smbios from a macbookpro14,1 config.plist I found. Is this OK

Working:

  • Wifi working
  • video card not flickering anymore on startup
  • Volumne up/down keys working - even there seems to be no hardware found

The rest seems to be still open:

  • No sound device showing up
  • Bluetooth no hardware found
  • LAN not working (shows not connected)
  • Battery indicator not showing up and I can't enable it in the power saving options!
  • Power saving dialog shows 0% for battery
  • Brightness keys not working
  • Colors on external HDMI monitor quite pink

Using first EFI FULL:

  • Battery is showing up - but tells me that the time to fully charge is about 20 hours - but I can it loading (72%, 73%)
  • Brightness keys working
  • External monitor is still pink
  • Audio interface is still missing
  • Bluetooth is still missing
  • LAN adapter still not found

Send me thinkbook-v3-efi-full.zip

Cool - now some additional components are working:

  • LAN adpater is showing up and working
  • Bluetooth Adapter is showing up and working
  • Brightness keys work
  • Battery is fully charged and no remaining loading time is showing up

I will check out the links regarding pink HDMI and audio later today

Thanx for now ;-)

Hi MaLdOn, I think there is still somethin wrong with the battery. In the system activity tool I can see that the remaining power is always showing 20 hours. And, the machine seems not to detect, when power is empty - as the machine turn off hard having a sudden power loss.

Anything you can fix?

Kind regards

    Kai

When using the suspend function - sometimes I can't wake up the laptop anymore. The power button and the red cover led are blinking as expected - but pressing the power button or any other button do not wake up the laptop always. Also, closing the lid and reopening does not power it on again. I am not 100% sure - but it can be that this happens only when I suspend the laptop with power cord plugged in, remove the power cord and then try to power on.
