Hp envy 13 ah-0051wm - Intel Core i5-8250U | problems with efi folder, need help

Recommended Posts

Hi Friends, i have need help to install a new release of open core and new macos sonoma system for my hp laptop.

can anyone help me with the installation? i'm current having some trouble (will list at the end of this)

Hardware: Hp envy 13 ah-0051wm

bios version: Insyde f32

Processor Name: Intel Core i5-8250U
KabyLake R (idk what efi version should I choose since it's between the 7th and 8th gen, tried efi for kabylake but it shows a X on boot, while coffelake efi gave me a bunch of text but i cant scroll up but it's likely to be an error with cpu)

Intel UHD Graphics 620

Drive Model:  WDC PC SN520 SDAPNUW-256G-1006
Network Card: Intel Wireless-AC 9260 160MHz

Please let me know if it's supported or not, which efi folder to use or even a customized efi would be nice.

and also, I watched a video on youtube says that I have to use a tool named GenSMBIOS to get a serial code and machine model, which is not mentioned in oralia's installation guide(which only show that I have to flash the os image then replace the efi file, it said that i have to get a working serial at the beginning but not mentioned at which step).

Thanks.

sorry but do I have to reflash the OS image after getting the wrong efi folder?

also is there some "limit" about a certain types/ brand of usb drive? if there is then I think I have to switch to another flash drive
will a sd card with a usb2.0 sd card reader work since i'm lazy to remap my usb 3.0 drive
