Bluetooth (and Wi-fi) problem for HP Envy 15-p030nl with Mac OS X Monterey....

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I successfully installed Mac OS X Monterey on my HP Envy 15 p030nl, based on the Haswell platform, following the excellent installation tutorial. I managed to fix most of the hardware, such as the ethernet with the "Realtek RTL8100" kext or the audio using the SSDTTime, however the integrated Wi-fi and bluetooth remain non-functional, the card model it is Broadcom BCM943142HM. From what I understand there is little hope for the wifi (which I enabled with an external key), but the bluetooth should work, in fact after inserting the "BrcmPatchRAM" 2.6.5 kext (Bluetoolfixup.kext, BrcmFirmwareData.kext and BrcmPatchRam3. kext, in that order in the kernel section of OCAuxiliaryTools), is recognized as BCM_4350C2, but with NULL address and NOT ACTIVE status. Is it possible to solve the problem somehow? A thousand thanks :)

Thanks a lot for your reply :D Unfortunately the wi-fi card isn't natively supported by versions higher than Snow Leopard and I don't know if there's a way to make it work by making it appear as another card to the system, but I don't think so. However, with the wifi I solved with a USB stick, which by the way is certainly better than the integrated wifi which cannot connect to 5 Ghz, furthermore having installed Windows in dual-boot, so isn't a big problem. On Windows, the bluetooth card is recognized as "BCM43142", and this model should work on Mac OS, in fact I entered the kexts in this precise order:

BlueToolFixup.kext
BrcmFirmwareData.kext
BrcmPatchRAM3.kext

In the Kernel section of OCAT, after clearly copying them to the EFI/OC/Kexts folder and performing a NVram reset. Unfortunately the card is recognized as 4350_C2 and the toggle to activate bluetooth does not work, resulting in the NULL address and NOT ACTIVE status.
