Olivier Crespo
Hi everyone! I´m new here, but I´m with hackintosh since Mavericks. I have good skills with chimera and clover. This is my first time with OpenCore. My Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 (with AMD FX3850) past away 2 weeks ago, and I bought an Asus B450M-A II, with AMD Ryzen 2200g (And my ATI HD7770 from the old one). I´ve installed Big Sur 11.4 with no issues. Everything is working even better than before (Clover), but I have Audio issues that I can´t solve by my own. I have ALC887, and I´ve tested every layout, but audio keeps cracking and popping in all applications except web browsers (chrome, firefox, safari) and Quicktime. It shows every connectors, and all of them works, but always cracking. Now if I move the cursor, sound is perfect, and when I stop moving it cracking and popping again. I´ve searched for a week, and no one tells anything about that. I´ve tried VoodooHDA.kext too (disabling AppleHDA and SIP), but at the end I get "No Voodoo devices detected". BTW I´ve installed Big Sur 11.4 on a Dell Inspiron 13 7359 and everything works perfect (sound included). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance... Olivier Crespo
Thank you... I´ve killed Serial Port from BIOS. It does not crack anymore, but sound still coming and leaving randomly. After 48 hours of work, I´m going to sleep. Then I will read carefully that info. Again, thanks by your reply...
Olivier Crespo
I´ve disabled Algrey´s original PAT fix patch, and enabled Shaneee´s one with no luck. What I had notice is that the coming and leaving audio is less with Shaneee´s patch than Algrey´s one. But still happens. Any idea? I had last OpenCore drivers and kexts, last BIOS... If you need my EFI folder, or any info just ask for it and I will upload it ASAP. Thanks again... EDIT 1 - I have Windows 10, Ubuntu, and Big Sur installed on my computer, and audio works perfect, so CPU or hardware misconfiguration is not the problem. EDIT 2 - Audio from QuickTime player works great too (along with web browsers). Third party players doesn´t. And MacOS System sounds are cracking too. EDIT 3 - My OC folder (I´ve removed Resources and Tools folders):EFI-OC.zip Edited July 26, 2021 by Olivier Crespo

Olivier Crespo
Hi again! And thanks by your reply. I solved the audio cracking and popping on Adobe Audition, Premiere and After Effects by increasing E/S buffer size to 2048. In VLC I´ve increased the files cache (and the other caches too) but no luck, still cracking and popping... My question now: Is there any way to change E/S buffer size directly on AppleALC.kext? Or maybe at OS level? Looking at MIDI configuration but only audio format can be changed, not buffer... If Adobe products can be solved with buffer size, there must be a way to change it globally for OS, isn´t? Thank you by your time...
Olivier Crespo
Well, is not a solution, but I can now hear everything ok. No cracks, no pops... everything clear... When a mouse is active (moving) the sound is clear, when it stops sound is bad. Because I´m graphic designer (between other professions) I have a Wacom tablet. The trick is just to left the pencil over the tablet surface (so the cursor is always moving, even if it is stopped), and audio becomes clear. Of course is not a solution, but it works, and is not too expensive (around 90$). Indeed it is a better choice, because regular mouses are bad for our hands. Everybody should use them instead regular ones... Anyway, if is there any way to change E/S buffer size directly on AppleALC.kext (or better a fix for this issue, which I´m sure it is common on AMD users), please, let us know. Thank you again...
