macOS Big Sur Opencore 0.6.3 Battery Drain

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys, I created my Big Sur Installation and I'm happy to report that (almost) everything is working. I do have one problem i.e. the battery life. My battery last for only like 70-80 minutes. In Windows I can get more than 3.5-4 hours on same usage. I used CPUFriendFriend and added the kext but its still not great.

My Specs:

HP Pavilion 15 Gaming Laptop

Intel i7-9750H + UHD 630

Nvidia GTX 1650

16GB RAM

128GB SSD + 1TB HDD

Here is my EFI. Can someone please give some pointers?
Thank You

Note: I removed kexts and resources folder to comply with file size limits. You can find my kexts through config.plist

On my HP, Result is quit similar if possible turn OFF dGPU completely if possible do it from Bios. From SSDT some how it consumes power.

Brightness levels are same with both OS ? If brightness levels are comparable then need to fix you Intel Brightness

@Dec_Bra1n Thank You but I would like to point out that on this same laptop I have had a very solid battery life (better than Windows) in macOS in the past. This time around I just tried creating things from scratch and I believe I have missed something. With regards to dGPU I disabled it using -wegnoegpu. Do I still need to disable it using SSDT (I can't disable using BIOS).

Try using  SSDT way here are the example of making  SSDT-dGPU-Off

using -wegnoegpu will disable dGPU but not powe consumtion will be there
