Hp Z800 dual X5560 - Patch request

Recommended Posts

Hi everydoby.

I have been trying to run Lion on HP z800

Successful instal (unishit), i have tried multishit.

As i haven't find any dsdt for this MB, i have tried easybeast.

Easybeast helped to boot from drive and manage to get sound card working but i lost all my usb ports.

No keyboard nor mouse. IRQ conflicts because of AppleHPET.kext

Read somewhere a fix by deleting this kext but doesn't sounds good no?

I think that can be done in by patching the dsdt with DSDT editor but i have tried without success...

(DSDT.aml extracted via ubuntu usb boot.)

DSDT HP Z800 backup.zip

Getting confused and running out of idea!

Thanks for your help : )

Your DSDT compiles without errors.

Read this for how and which patches to apply http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=634

Thanks for the link Cassio

I have been looking at for a while already : )

Because i can't find patching example for MB similar to mine, i don't know where to start from..

And, the MB is from intel/hp.. So very few documentation specific to the MB is available..

(maybe not the best choice for a Hackintosh but i am sure, with a bit of work, it is worth : )

As well, the fact to not have keyboard or mouse, i can't dig in logs etc to look for errors and pin point problems!

If at least i can get the usb to work, i am sure with time, i can figure the rest out...

I found some explanation here http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=564

on how to solve what i think is my problem HPET IRQ conflict but haven't figured yet how to apply it to my case...

and not sure the usb problem comes from there..

Try to apply the patch "IRQs", you can use the multi-platform version of DSDT Editor (Linux or Windows).

I use a mbp,

I found dsdtfixer here : http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1765

It applied fix like IRQ etc... without erros and have fixed loads of warning messages.

Reopened it in dsdt editor and show only few warnings, no errors and recompiled so it sounds promising : )

Reinstallation on the way..

Nowhere yet..

When use fixer, i lost the processors tree (left side dsdt editor) but can still see it in the code.

Booting -v i could see something like "invalid caractere found in processor"

and after "waiting for root device...

I get error i can't understand when applying dtgp patch to be able to use paches for IRQ and usb fix..

Any idea?

i could in -v something to do with "fadt"

Is that something important?

I wonder why you ask for help then you do something totally different from the suggested.

Could you enlighten me on the reason why, when i boot from unishit, install and restart to complete the instal,

my usb keyboard and mouse works!

But not after multishit (easybeast - or userDSDT) and restart booting from HD.

Does it tell something?

because of what i read here http://solitudo.net/blah/posts/HP_xw4600_Workstation_as_a_Hackintosh/

But i didn't get that the dtgp methode is only necessary for apply usb patch for sleep problems (not usb problem caused by IRQ conflict)..

And had problems after patching the dtgp patch so i looked for a way to correct error and found fixer...

I will try again this time just with the IRQ patch.

THe only way i found is to reinstall lion again but i am sure you can change the files (overwrite the dsdt.aml) with the terminal booting from unishit.

Looking at terminal command just now...

Would overwrite the .aml files ok or do you have to boot with a flag?

Are you sure xw4600 and Z800 have the same chipset?

I believe xw4600 is ICH9 and Z800 is ICH10 (quick Google search, I may be wrong), so the USB patch for sleep doesn't apply.

I have zero experience with tonycrap stuff, but for what you said I believe unishit has patched USB kexts to work without a patched DSDT. It may also be some Chameleon option it uses, like USBBusFix=yes.

Thanks for pointing that out!

Yeah, it is Intel X58/ICH10R Chipset, LGA 1366

I looked at the DSDT database for intelX58 but found nothing..

I have tried USBBusFix=yes before but had the same problem..

I have now reinstall and everything is running. (i know if i restart, the same thing will happen)

I haven't used multishit yet and wonder what to do now..

I have extracted the log on a usb to have something to look at if get stuck again..

I have patched the DSDT with IRQ patch and recompile.

But i noticed that, just to compile (without patch), save as aml and reopen in DSDT editor that i lost all the CPU icons in the system tree (left column)

Is that only cosmetic?

No, it's a bug in DSDT Editor, but it should not make difference, the CPUs are there, they just don't show up in the tree.

Hi: I have installed my Z800 without issues.

First: use the SAS connectors, not the ACHI

Second: before the reboot, run the Terminal and remove the AppleHpet.kext, reported in various forums for problematic with the USBs

That´s it, your system will be working fine.
