Safe Update to 10.9.4?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Just quick question: I have Dell XPS L502x running 10.9.1 smoothly without any problem. Just wondering, is it safe if I want to update to 10.9.4 via apple combo update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1755 ?

Did anyone having some issue after updating? any experience worth to share please?

Btw, I use Chameleon bootloader in this case.

Thanks a lot! ;)

hello

if u have a stable system .. i don't see any major problems

remember if u have patched apple system kext (like applehda) .. they will be replaced by new ones .. also new mach_kernel

any third part kext (like voodoo kext) don't have any change..

make a backup of ur system/library/extensions ..

good hack

Oh, really? this update will replace my previous mach_kernel as well?

When I update from 10.9.0 to 10.9.1 only my applehda that need to be re-installed so I have no experience replace or reinstall my mach_kernel. I Google it but still no luck on how to replace or install my mach_kernel after a combo update. I'm not using multishit whatsoever since the beginning of my installation, I only use the image from this forum and patch manually one by one whatever kext that need to be patched.

Any help how to perform this action will be appreciated. Maybe can be useful also for anyone else out there that have the same problem.

Thanks a lot! ;)
