lucke77
Hi guys, Now my problem is: upgrade to 10.6.8 on my Acer 6930G ... With 10.6.7, no problems, patched dsdt, audio and network functioning, and sleep ok. After the update with 10.6.8 combo, I reinstalled: iopcifamily.kext fix and AppleACPIPlatform.kext. Information taken from this thread: http://www.tonycrapx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=22886 I repaired permissions but no boot. Freeze the apple logo and nothing ... Tips ... P.S. I also tried multishit 3.8, but nothing... Quote Asus M12F - i9 10900k - RAM 32GB - RX5700XT SE Nitro+ 8GB - BS 11.

lucke77
I boot-v and-v-x, as before ... nothing to do ... My doubt is the SMBIOS ... MacBook Pro 8.1 was set as ... Somewhere I read that it created problems with the update ... MacPro 3.1 Should be fine ... I do not understand ... oldnapalm
I read about SMBIOS problems in Lion http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=265219 What are the last messages in boot verbose?
lucke77
Ok oldnapalm, boot with the DVD of SL, repaired the disk and permissions. I boot with-v-x, Now, it's ok in safe mode... no audio, network... Next step...? oldnapalm
I ask again, what are the last messages in boot verbose? (without -x, just -v)
lucke77
Sorry, but now in -v mode boot ok... but only in verbose. Is there any way to stop the messages to read, while booting? lucke77
oldanapalm, The last boot-v stopped, and the messages are: FakeSMCDevice: 17 preconfigured keys added: FakeSMCDevice: succesfully initialized com.apple.AppleFSCompressionTypeZlib kmod start.com First, the messages were related to the PCI configuration procedure. The last one was: [PCI configuration end] I'm sorry oldanapalm, but osx does not know very, very much ... oldnapalm
I don't understand. So it boots fine in verbose, but without -v it stays at the apple screen?
lucke77
I don't understand. So it boots fine in verbose, but without -v it stays at the apple screen? It is strange ... every 5 / 6-v boot, only 1 can do a normal boot. If I did not start in-v mode, many times it stops on the Apple Logo screen ... lucke77
Now, when i boot, it's possible only in verbose mode, the procedure stops to: FakeSMCDevice: 17 preconfigured keys added FakeSMCDevice: succesfully initialized Do you think, is necessary to do a clean installation with a 10.6.8 Combo re-update, following a right procedure? oldnapalm
No idea, I never saw such a thing. Did you try booting after update without replacing IOPCIFamily and AppleACPIPlatform? If it hangs at "PCI configuration begin" you can try "npci=0x2000" as boot flag. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181293&st=920&p=1706503entry1706503 Do you have SMboardproduct in SMBIOS? oldnapalm
SMboardproduct should be something like Mac-F42C88C8. It may not be the cause of your problem, but on a laptop you should use a MacBookPro SMBIOS.
lucke77
I updated to 10.6.8 from 10.6.3 (Retail DVD version). I used your advice oldnapalm. Thanks again! The only problems I have now, are: USB Card Reader Integrated, which worked well in 10.6.7, using the package Apple Storage DriversV2 from: http://www.kexts.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=618 I tried replacing AppleStorageDrivers.kext and AppleSDXC.kext with versions of 10.6.7, but nothing. For Audio, if I use the AppleHDA.kext patched with Enabler + Legacy versions of 10.6.7 no sounds... Voodoo? Some help-advice? Thanks ... Thanks, I edited the info.plist as you suggest me. And now it works. For suond, I tried again to make a list of verbs functioning, I had already followed the tutorial from The King sometimes, trying to patch the AppleHDA, but nothing. Now I followed your tutorial and I can have a working kext to 90 percent, because as usual the fuc... internal mic, does't want to work (I have an HDMI output on the left side of the notebook). If it's VoodooHDA try to create one entry for each card in IOKitPersonalities to avoid conflict http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=454#p4436 About verbs, which node is the internal mic?
