Hackintosh OpenCore Vanilla Guide, Step by Step

Hi MaLd0n,

My Big Sur installation is working fine from the .raw file and I've used the resources folder to amend the boot them which is fine and boots well although I would like to hide unwanted boot screen icons like NVRAM, Preboot, Recovery, etc. and add my Windows OS to the boot screen but my Windows OS doesn't have an EFI that I can mount with OpenCore Configurator and can't add the bootmgfw.efi as I cannot find the PciRoot address for the windows drive and boot file.

Is there any way to add my Windows OS to the OpenCore boot menu without the Windows OS being installed as GPT UEFI?

Attached is my current boot screen.

Thanks.04135857.png.zip

Hi, Thanks for the info, I've now reinstalled windows 10 to another drive by using Rufus to create a UEFI usb boot drive and once installed it just popped up on my OpenCore boot screen so that's all good.

The next thing I'm trying to get running is the Apple boot chime and I have followed some instructions which has ended up showing this message prior to boot.Archive.zip

I've added images of the error message and also my ProperTree view of my config.plist.

Thanks.

ok, I've now raised minimum volume to 60 then tested not working and then changed audio out to 1 and tested not working.

each time has the same error message prior to showing boot menu and also, since I first made changes to the config.plist to give boot chime I lost the Olarila gui and now has just the text only gui boot menu up in the top left of the screen.

Could it be caused by incorrect PciRoot address to the audio hardware at all as I'm not sure if its correct device address.

Thank you for all the help.

And the audio file is present in resources folder.

"Fix _WAK Arg0 v2"
"HPET Fix"
"SMBUS Fix"
"IRQ Fix"
"RTC Fix"
"OS Check Fix (Windows 8)"
"Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel" **(forgot if this needs to be patched, won't hurt)**
"Add IMEI"
"Fix _WAK IAOE"
"Rename GFx0 to IGPU"
"renaming B0D3 to HDAU"
"7-series/8-series USB"

Maldon, thanks for the detailed guide.

I am unable to get the sleep working. The system goes to sleep and immediately wakes up.

Once I hit the sleep command, the system goes to sleeps for a second and wakes up again.

Tried to read various forums but no luck, as per the open core guide the reason are many, I do not want to try each of them, nor am I so technical. Any assistance will be helpful.

System details:

Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz LGA 1150 - Haswell
GA-B85M-D3H LGA 1150 mATX Intel Motherboard

Radeon RX 560 4 GB
32 GB GSKill RAM (used it on 1600MHz. with profile 1, and with 1333MHz. as default, no difference)
Intel SSD

Software
Using Catalina 10.5.7

Open Core - 0.6.6 release.

Complete EFI folder attached.

SMBIOS 19,1 iMac

Have removed all the USB except the mouse and the inbuilt Bluetooth as part of the WiFi Broadcom. Still no luck.

BIOS disabled - LAN wake up.

Can you guide how to and where to edit (which file in particular needs to be edited), in the attached EFI folder.

Checked the config.plist using OpenCore sanity checker https://opencore.slowgeek.com/?file=haswell066bZRcaB&rs=haswell066

results attached.

Dropped smbios from iMac19,1 to iMac14,2 as it is the closest match to my CPU. The CPU used in iMac14,2 is i7 4771 & my CPU is i7-4790K.

Removed few kext as per the result form the sanity checker.

Attached revised version of the EFI.

Maldon, I think this is what will fix the issue.

https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/usb/misc/instant-wake.html

But the issue is I do not know what is required, do I need to copy the .aml files as well as patch the config.plist. I have no idea, what to do as well as how to do. Any guidance is appreciated.
