Script to patch the kext AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement to work with locked wrmsr BIOS Download: AICPMPatch.zip Written by el coniglio ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I'm currently using 10.8.5 with ASRock H67M-ITX, Core i5-2400, and NVidia GT630. According to http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/about/ "These roms negate the need to use nullcpupowermanagement, or speedstepper to patch the appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext" So I 1. flash the patched BIOS Asrock-H67M-ITX-220 from http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/asrock/h61/ 2. extract DSDT with DSDT Editor, patch Generic (BIOS 2.20) from http://Olarila.com/forum/packs.php, patch ALC892 (I didn't choose H67M ITX patch, coz I didn't know which BIOS version it is for) 3. install DSDT and drivers with multishit 5.5.5 4. I didn't patch AICPMPatch, because I think I won't need it if I already had a patched BIOS (but...how can I verify that the BIOS I downloaded is indeed patched?) After that, Sleep/Wake, Audio works fine! But when using HWMonitor, it shows the lowest clock is 1.98GHZ when the CPU is mostly idle (without NullCPUPowerManagement.kext)! Funny thing is, if I put NullCPUPopwerManagement.kext back to /S/L/E, the lowest clock is 1.58GHZ (hey, I didn't need NullCPU..., right?) Would you please enlighten me which part of my installation could lead to the problem? Thanks! Quote Someday I'm gonna buy a real Mac if I won the lottery! Oops! I'm so sorry! In the hackintosh world, I'm just a 2-month old baby and I wasn't aware that tonycrap's stuff is a violation of the original osx86 spirit. Ever since I googled for hackintosh tutorial, most of them use *Beast tools. As a result, I thought it is the "official" approach to building a hackintosh. Silly me! 2. Being unable to know what's going on under the hood is really painful. Please show me the best way into the osx86 world. Thanks! Quote Someday I'm gonna buy a real Mac if I won the lottery! brandonh
After install OSX, read in here to know how configure your installation: http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1716 I'll help you in many questions, but you need read this carefully and undestand I can't believe I have to ask for help so soon! After Mavericks installation, I installed Clover bootloader. 1. My EFI BIOS shows a new boot option called(Mac OS X), which boots directly into my Mountain Lion on another disk(which is my first SSD). I have to remove that disk for that same option to boot into Mavericks. 2. I got the following message after installing FakeSMC and reboot "OSMetaClass: Kext org.netkas.driver.FakeSMC class FakeSMCKey is a duplicate;kext org.netkas.FakeSMC already has a class by that name." it seems like Clover has loaded something similar to FakeSMC, because I can boot into Mavericks without it.However, kexts for hardware sensors complains about dependency error, saying no FakeSMC was loaded. thanks for help Quote Someday I'm gonna buy a real Mac if I won the lottery! brandonh
I believe my bobo has EFI BIOS - ASRock H67M-ITX (UEFI BIOS) But the partition scheme for my disk is MBR I tried to read http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration but still don't know how to properly configure Clover. I wonder how the usb installer can boot into the system so smoothly. Everything works except Audio when I boot from usb installer. Is there a working config inside the usb that I can copy over? Or should I just give up and use Chameleon instead. Clover is powerful but it's really not for noobs I guess. PimentelX86
Hello Who have UEFI, Clover is the best choice, you need choose: *Install for UEFI Mobo... *Install Clover in ESP *Some 64 UEFI drives(i think this isn't necessary) *You don't need RC script *Install Clover PrefPane(if you want, but it's very useful) After installed it, you need configure your config.plist, it's a very important file. You need read this: http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration But post your config.plist in here, i'll try adjust some things to you. Please Create a new topic about your problems, this topic is about AICPUPMpatch no about Clover or OSX installation.

pernacabeluda
Maybe you are missing other settings (SSDT with good P and C states) http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1703 If it finds no wrmsr your kext is probably patched already. van_dis
Normally if it is patched, OSX should run, right? I'm using clover and I selected to patch AICPM , removed NullCPU, selected P states and C states and I get KPs related to AICPM :/ Do I need SSDT? Thanks
pernacabeluda
Patching AICPM isn't enough in some cases, you need good P and C states. If you are using Clover to generate SSDT, try using DropOem too http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/ACPI#SSDT-/-DropOem <key>ACPI</key> <dict> <key>SSDT</key> <dict> <key>Generate</key> <dict> <key>CStates</key> <true/> <key>PStates</key> <true/> </dict> <key>DropOem</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> Also, if you use Clover to patch AICPM, keep the original kext untouched. van_dis
Well it didn't work either, but I installed after that Mavericks, booted using Chameleon w/ NullCPU, patched the AICPM and I got a lot of messages (maybe its patched) but when I removed NullCPU, put the ssdt.aml in its place and rebooted w/ P-C states it gave KP, Returned to clover, AICPM just got patched automatically and now I'll see if sleep is working. BTW, do I need SleepEnabler.kext?
