Help needed. Reboots at 2 min remaining. Gigabyte B360M D3H, 9600K, WD Black NVMe

Recommended Posts

Hi! And thank you for your outstanding work in Hackintoshes. I'm by no means experienced in this so maybe I'm missing something obvious here.

My install using USB and 'Olarila Catalina Intel.AMD.raw' ISO and EFI folder for CoffeeLake is always rebooting at 2 minutes remaining.
First the mouse starts to stutter and lag. Then reboots.

Hardware:
Gigabyte B360M D3H. Latest BIOS F14C.
i5 9600K
16GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz
WD Black 500GB NVME M.2 + 500GB Seagate 2.5" HDD SATA

BIOS-settings: (similar to https://github.com/saikatm/gigabyte-b360m-d3h-hackintosh-efi )
Defaults loaded
Disable CSM
Disable Fast
Enable Internal Graphics & VT-D
Disable serial port (first option)

I've tried and failed:
Many combinations of BIOS settings
Format drive either in APFS or GUID
Use NVME drive or the SATA drive

Any ideas? Thank you!

I don't think that DSDT/SSDT is causing this problem. When the installation reboots, and you are redirected to the USB Drive boot screen, it has some boot entry called "macOS from Hard Drive (your HDD name)"? If yes, select this option. Or, try to download another RAW archive. Try this link below:

Initially after the reboot a new partition is made and after selecting it the installation attempts to continue but crashes again during "13 minutes left".

However... I actually managed to complete the installation on the SATA drive using the EFI from this build with a very similar MSI MB: https://github.com/reputati0n/hackintosh-b360-9400f

I have no idea why it works though and would really like to understand it. I still need to install it properly to the NVMe-drive.

I have the same problem, but did manage to install 10.15.0 using that chinese guy EFI folder, my RX5600XT was not recognized because it started to have good support on 10.15.3. And unfortunately I didn't manage to upgrade that system.

Tried everything from the beginning with Olarila 10.15.4, EFI from 300 series, "agpdmod=pikera", and a custom DSDT provided by Maldon, this time I got the 2m mark problem, and booting from disk didn't help.
After that, I tried Olarila 10.15.3, with default and updated the kexts, all I can get is a reboot during install, and a shutdown if a try to boot from system disc.

If you guys find a solution, please share it back here, I don't know what else I can try.... :(
