Ouici Yall
Hello,I've successfully installed Monterey on my Acer Nitro 5 Laptop, here are the specs:i7 10750h, RTX 3060, Intel WIFI, AX201 Ethernet... Everything is working perfectly except that the battery life is terrible compared to Windows 10. I get about 6hrs with light browsing on Windows. about 1hr idle on Mac. I've disabled dGPU using Device Properties method, sleep and power management seem to be working, so I can't figure out what's causing this battery issue. In Windows CPU temp while light browsing hovers around 40C, on Mac while idling it hovers around 50, and doesn't go lower than 46. If anybody could help, it would be greatly appreciated. I've attached IORegistry save and here is a link to EFI: https://drive.google.com/file/d/161b-SiJ4zn_kRi8LL9VCFvUT9Ho4pQzo/view?usp=drivesdkThanks in advance! Administrators MaLd0n Posted March 9, 2023 Administrators Share Posted March 9, 2023 Via device properties ur dgpu is just hide, not full disable. U can use Rehabman way to complete disable Quote External (_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._OFF, MethodObj) Device (RMD1)   {     Name (_HID, "RMD10000")  // _HID: Hardware ID     Method (_STA, 0, NotSerialized)  // _STA: Status     {       If (_OSI ("Darwin"))       {         Return (0x0F)       }       Else       {         Return (Zero)       }     }     Method (_INI, 0, NotSerialized)  // _INI: Initialize     {       If (_OSI ("Darwin"))       {         If (CondRefOf (\_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._OFF))         {           \_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._OFF ()         }       }       Else       {       }     }   }  Quote -Donations- PayPal HERE - Stripe HERE - Ko-Fi HERE - BuyMeaCoffee HERE - Mercado Livre HERE Skrill danielnmaldonado@gmail.com - BTC 33HeGCuCSh4tUBqdYkQqKpSDa1E7WeAJQ3 - BNB 0x10D1d656eCa00bD521f9b4A43B83098B8142e115 - USDT BSC BEP20 0xb57cfdfa371fad1981910f0e8332409ab99f74d9 - USDT TRC20 TUR6Z9AVS4AYzqPnULoHrfFvppRbhXmNbZ - KASPA kaspa:qpxzufgfj8p6r0krg58yzvs0009h2mwqgvcawa0xc2pth7sgzpv56j4f6dtvk - PicPay @danielnmaldonado - PiX @danielnmaldonado@gmail.com Premium Users HERE - Problems with Paypal HERE Sign up for a Bybit account and claim exclusive rewards HERE New ways to earn money with Linkvertise HERE
Ouici Yall
Thanks for your reply!  I tried disabling using rehab man method, it doesn't make a difference in battery life.  And I noticed that in IORegistry, it seems that it is still drawing power?  I've linked a screenshot. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1svMuZxR3D1nmNcTALqD0zZ9TBn6egxdF/view?usp=share_link and here is IORegistry save https://drive.google.com/file/d/15MJgzIDNdDlDEhxYYh9rnb3t4K05SIIY/view?usp=share_link Please advise, thanks! Ouici Yall
Update: I was able to disable dGPU using Bumblebee method described here.  It greatly increased my battery life, almost equal to windows. However, after sleep, it seems dGPU comes back on, because my battery life goes back to the way it was, as well as raised Wattage and Temperatures in intel power gadget.  Any ideas?
Ouici Yall
Do you have any ideas how to keep dGPU off after sleep?
