PS/2 keyboard and mouse

Recommended Posts

If you have keyboard and mouse PS/2, or have a noteboot/netbook (which usually have keyboard and trackpad with PS/2 interface), you will need drivers to make them work. There are two options, ApplePS2Controller and VoodooPS2Controller. The version for Snow Leopard and on needs AppleACPIPS2Nub to work.

Boot CDs and "distro" DVDs usually include these kexts.

If the keys "\|" and "/?" don't work on your keyboard with ApplePS2, try using VoodooPS2.

If preference panel doesn't show, try this procedure, edit the file /System/Library/PreferencePanes/Trackpad.prefPane/Contents/Info.plist and remove these lines

how to edit Info.plist

You can invert command and option key by editing VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext/Contents/Info.plist

                        <key>Swap command and option</key>

or in System Preferences, Keyboard, Modifier Keys

For trackpad you may need a kext specific to the model/vendor (Alps, Synaptics, ElanTech)
