Yes, looks like Intel HD must be set as primary in BIOS.

Here's my issue:

ASUS P8Z77-V LK running Intel I5-3470 (2500 Intel Graphics)

With a Geforce GTX 660 card.

Downloaded the new drivers NVIDIA drivers so it's hooked up HDMI to DVI (Monitor)

As of now only boots in safe mode.

Trying to boot normally gives me this screen.

Any advice?

hello

try to boot

-f -v

to rebuild the caches...

good hack

Thanks! It's good only if it works, haha.

Gave -f a try, no luck. :(

I see builds that have a Intel HD 4000 graphics, but I'd prefer to use the 660 card for startup. Question is what Kext's do I use to make this happen? I just want to it boot without -x safe mode for starters.

Updated first post.

@esqueegee:

Sadly I got no experience with Nvidia at all.

Which drivers did you install?

One thing I did find though.

Supposedly the FakeSMC's Nvidia plugin causes this crash. You can try to remove it.

I removed it by deleting the kext from my extensions folder and gave it a try on reboot, no luck as well. What's the logic behind how Chimera/multishit boots?

Load specific drivers/kexts.

Objects A, B, and C match, initializing bootup with those settings?

People have said they have gotten the Asus motherboard working I have with intel 4000 Graphics. Well I just wanted to skip the part that loads based the 4000 graphics (Because my processor has instead Intel 2500 graphics) with the new NVIDIA card instead. Is this logically sound or is it more complicated than that?

Hi again,

the 660 is supposed to work without any modifications.

It must be an issue with your configuration.

Check your bootloader settings and remove any video card settings. The video card must be handled natively by OSX now.

I don't know much about multishit, As far as I know it is a compilation of many drivers and setup scripts.

It would be better to configure your system by hand as you will know what changes you made and which changes you don't need to make.

Again, I can't tell much about Chimera, I have used Chameleon and switched to Clover recently.

Nevertheless, Chimera and Chameleon should have the same configuration options. So just try to boot with GraphicsEnabler=No.

The HD4000 should work with some modifications, yes.

Never tried it though. I got an AMD 7870 which works quite well since 10.8.3, except a startup issue.. but it works

PS: Check your BIOS settings for the primary video card. It should be PCIE. Also disable Virtu MVP.

PPS: Is there a normal way to get to the Mac driver section of Nvidia? I must be blind.

EDIT1:

First post updated with premade DSDT.

EDIT2 2013.01.21:

DSDT updated.
