Cassio
I've install chameleon 2.1But i still cant boot windows Whats causing the problem? What's the problem? Any error messages? Inserting a picture of the same . Post the picture. Am i gonna have to keep switching between AHCI & IDE mode in BIOS every time if i want to get into mac and windows every now and then? No, you can configure Windows to work in AHCI mode. regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Msahci Set "Value data" to zero. devilindisguise
Do i need to get my drives in AHCI mode to install and use mac? or can i keep it in IDE? If i dont change it to AHCI mode when installing, it gets stuck with all those lines before reaching the installer. if i do change it, it gets into the installer. Cassio
How would I know? I don't know which SATA controller you have. If you can get an ATA kext for your controller, you can use OS X in IDE mode. I would use both OS X and Windows in AHCI mode. Cassio
When i start up my laptop, it says "boot0:error"Help me please You probably have HD with 4 K sectors, try writing boot1h with dd for Windows. http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/issues/129/#ic1671 Edit: you can also try this http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1676 Quote -Donations- PayPal HERE - Stripe HERE - BuyMeaCoffee HERE - Mercado Livre HERE Skrill danielnmaldonado@gmail.com - BTC 33HeGCuCSh4tUBqdYkQqKpSDa1E7WeAJQ3 PicPay @danielnmaldonado - PiX @danielnmaldonado@gmail.com Premium Users HERE - Problems with Paypal HERE
devilindisguise
Cassio need your help I believe this will fix the video issue for me -- http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=736&start=30 But how do i go about fixing the Internet and Audio? im guessing im gonna have to obtain the kext files for them from somewhere and install them using the kext wizard right? so i download them on windows and boot into mac and open the zip file there? where do i get the kext files from? Also do i need Chameleon? is it just a boot loader or does it help in enabling graphics, ethernet and audio? im guessing i need a proper step by step instruction for post install as well. If you may please. Im still having to use GraphicsEnabler=no -f to boot. Extensions.mkext contents:AHCIPortInjector.kext AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext FakeSMC.kext IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext PXHCD.kext VoodooPS2Controller.kext VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext VoodooPS2Mouse.kext VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext FakeSMC.kext is always needed. http://www.mediafire.com/?lgxtj47kk47cn9k While you don't have power management fixed, you will probably need NullCPUPowerManagement.kext. http://www.mediafire.com/?uwvnvztwtna If you use PS/2 keyboard or a laptop you will need VoodooPS2Controller.kext (or ApplePS2Controller.kext) and AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext. http://www.mediafire.com/?jw9zk6i2d4m2vvd Now regarding the above, FakeSMC.kext, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext & VoodooPS2Controller.kext are already part of the USB installer as mentioned above. Or do i need to do something? whats the difference between kext and mkext? If the above is too confusing for you, just tell me what do i need to do next? Cassio
Please use specific topic for post install questions (video on the ATI topic, for example), this one is just for install issues using the USB image. If you can't find a related topic, create a new one, post your full hardware specs, a System Info screenshot helps http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=63 Now regarding the above, FakeSMC.kext, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext & VoodooPS2Controller.kext are already part of the USB installer as mentioned above. Or do i need to do something? Yes, they are on the USB, but you need to install them to the HD, as well as the boot loader (Chameleon) to be able to boot without the installer USB. Federicotero
Hi guys very nice work you did with this usb installer. Now i have a favor to ask you Cassio, I've noticed that you have the same notebook as me, so could you please send me the kexts that you've installed after a fresh install? Wifi its working from the beginning (with my dsdt), but i have no sound and my trackpad isn't working either. Also if you have any more improvements like showing the battery icon and get a better graphics performance i'm glad to hear you. Thanks for your help! Burnoutagain
Hi all! Thanks a lot for your work, the installation was super fast, and Mountain Lion starts perfectly! The only problem is that I can only see my other Windows HD, and my flashdrive, but the main Mountain Lion HD doesn't appear... SATA mode is set to AHCI (I was running Lion before), and I tried changing it to other modes but nothing... I also tried to search folders as "Library", but "that folder doesn't exist". I can't do anything without that, and can't install kext or chameleon. Any suggestions? My config: MB: ASUS P8P67PRO HD: SSD OCZ AGILITY3 120 GB GC: NVIDIA GTX 560ti (ASUS) thank you! panickedthumb
Followed everything, and it installed fine. I am able to boot into the system using the boot USB, but once I get in I can't do anything. The setup that runs on first boot created my account as a standard account, so there's no admin account. I tried removing .applesetupdone and it *did* redo that setup, but to the same effect-- no admin account, two standard user accounts. I have tried various methods in single-user mode to create a new account, but none of them work, most all commands error out with "the daemon encountered an error..." or something more cryptic. EDIT: something as simple as "passwd administrator" comes back with the daemon error specified earlier. Running dseditgroup to try to add my standard user to the admin group comes back with "getNodeRef failed to obtain a node reference." Any ideas? EDIT: If it helps, I'm also seeing the same thing as Burnoutagain here: http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1627&start=60#p14017 Perhaps it's related to the same issue? Burnoutagain-- if you read this can you check your user accounts and see if you have an admin? EDIT again: Apparently third time is a charm. I'm in and everything seems to be working properly -- at least to get it running. Loads of driver issues though. Burnout-- you have to tell it to show you fixed disks in the preferences.
