OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion bootable USB

First Of all i want to thank you all for such a great community

I've installed ML in my laptop before using this method but there was no kext for the hardware, anyway am trying to get it on my desktop computer but with no success.

Note: I've removed all Graphics kext from the USB.

if i booted into USB with no BootFlags I get stuck at [ PCI Configuration Begin ]

when using npci=0x3000 i get stuck at [ Still waiting for root device ]

Please Someone HELP.

Spec:

ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011

Intel Core i7 3930K 3.2 GHZ 12MB LGA 2011

GTX 680 4GB DDR5

Kingston (2x 8GB) 16GB ram

Kingston 240GB HyperX 3K SSD SATA3

Segate 2TB SATA3 7200RPM

Yes it dit. Thank you. Now i'm facing a HDD problem. I have 2 partition Hdd First is with Win 7 and second is Unpartitioned but i can't see it in Disk Utility so i can make a Os Extended (Journaled) partition. Any idea? Thanks again for helping.

Hi Prastie

you mean that the win 7 partition is detected in Disk Utility and the Unpartitioned (unallocated ??) is not ?

if you can see win 7 partition, you can simply format Unpartitioned part in win7 to NTFS

after that if for some reason Disk Utility detected your partition but is unable to format it as Os Extended (Journaled) [it happens]

you can use [Paragon Hard Disk Manager™] in win 7 and format it as Apple HFS.

ok so I've installed OS x to my USB then i booted the USB again but not the installer. I had a couple kernal panics, so I removed the kexts. Now when I boot back into the OSx it sits a grey sceen with an apple on it like its loading and just hangs there for hours. Can anyone help me?

Use boot verbose, type -v at boot loader screen.

I did and it shows times out, something about power management. IDK why its timing out at that when I deleted the powermanagement kext

If you delete a kext, you must use -f to ignore cache, because the kext is still in cache.

Maybe it's a video problem, read tips on first post about deleting video kexts.

do i need to install essential kexts in order for it to boot properly or just delete the kexts causing problems using transmac and install essential kexts once i have it installed properly?

You don't need to install kexts while you are booting from the installer USB.

I think my laptop FUJITSU NH532 does not suport mac os ML. install ML on my laptop go nice and all is ok but after the installation gets stuck when I want to start ML from HD. just freezes. If I run in safe mode (-v -x) then start ML normally. but the problem arises when I come on the first page schreen set of user accounts. The keyboard does not work, the USB 3.0 ports doesnt not works (work is only one USB port 2.0). Sound does not work, wi fi does not work. And I not loading the first time this system ML because I successfully installed on a desktop computer and all work perfect.

if it is a mac all work after installation.. that is not a mac so..

is a windows machine.. if u install windows and boot , all works...

the wireless don't work, nvidia don't work , only intel hd 4000

I have tried, image writer, win32diskimager, and dd but my flash doesn't want to boot!

What's the error message? If it's "operating system not found" try to make the partition active.

It doesn't give me any error message it just don't boot..

I pathed the .raw image and it's writing to the flash drive as we speak...

I will also check with the gparted after it's done if the partition is marked as active...

I will update as soon as all of the above finishes and have some result

The patch will work only with images from my signature. If you are using the one from this topic, mark the partition as active using gParted.

Sorry for my late answer but after i got it boot from usb i had to go out...

So what i did in case anyone is having similar problems:

1. Downloaded the 10.8.2 from chat

2. Patch the .raw file with the the attachement from pernacabeluda post

3. Use win32diskimage to write to device

4. Everything working!

in the Installer the USB Ports didn't work.

I have plugged in an USB Mouse (with the Touchpad it also didn't work)

My Laptop:

Acer Aspire 5742z

Intel Pentium P6200

2GB DDR3 RAM

320 GB HDD

Intel HD Graphics

Do i need to install an USB kext ??

in the BIOS there aren't any Settings for USB.

With -v GraphicsEnabler=No USBBugFix=Yes its the same.

I stuck here:

The USB didn't work at all.

I tried alo with an USB to PS/2 and an PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard
