  1. I tried two different ones: Radeon 7950 and Nvidia GT 710 with the same result.
  2. Hi I was able to install Catalina 10.15.5 on a Chinese X79 mobo and Xeon E5-2630 CPU. It took forever to boot with the usb installer created with the Olarila Catalina download and the X79 EFI Chipset folder but I was eventually able to complete the installation including the Apple Account creation. But when I rebooted after completing the installation I was never able to get any video. The boot process is normal until in the end I am greeted with a black screen and after a while I am sent back to the Clover boot window. Every boot attempt ends up with a black screen. What am I missing?
  3. Thanks. I'll keep working on that problem.
  4. Thanks for your reply. However, those patches seem to be meant for Clover. If for opencore, under what section of the config.plist should the correct patches be applied? Thanks
  5. No more suggestions? I donated to your site before and I will gladly donate again if you can help me install Catalina on my X99 using Opencore.
  6. Yes. Here are my boot args: -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 npci=0x2000
  7. Thanks again. Please, excuse my ignorance. But what am I supposed to do with your SSDT? Should I place it in the ACPI folder and add it to the two SSDT already present there? Should I rename it? Thanks
  8. Thanks. Could you be a little more specific? Under what section do you inject device ec? And what should I inject for Radeon RX 480? Thanks for your kind assistance.
  9. I started again from scratch using Opencore 0.5.8; the screenshot attached shows where booting stops. Can you help determining what is causing this behaviour. Thanks 0E4C6791-D026-4C40-8263-A31B10054046_1_105_c.jpeg.zip
  10. The folder for my chipset x99 in Opencore? I did not try it.
  11. Thanks. What are you suggesting? What should my next move be?
  12. Here is a full screen pic verticale.PDF.zip
  13. Hi Thanks. What do you mean? Do you mean that you need a full screenshot to spot the error? Or do you mean that I should be able to find out the cause of the error myself?
  14. Hi Booting from my opencore 5,7 usb installer hangs as shown on the attached screenshot. I also attached my config.plist. I need help to know what I did wrong and what I should do to make my installer bootable. MSI X99-SLI-Plus, i7 5820k, AMD RX 480, 16 gigs ram Thanks IMG_0002.PDF.zip config.plist.zip
  15. Sure, but how do I know which ones I should use? I already tried the x99 efi clover but I get the same failed boot.
  16. OK. Here is a screenshot when booting with the usb installer. 2020-04-30 06.15.18.pdf.zip
  17. Hi I spent countless hours trying to install Catalina 10.15.4 on my MSI X99 SLI and my i7-5820k but no matter what I used I could not get the computer to boot from my usb installation drive. Do you mind explaining which folders you used after preparing you installation usb drive? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
  18. Hi I was trying to install Catalina on a second drive on my computer because I was afraid that updating from Mojave 10.14.6 to Catalina 10.15.2 would mess up my drive. But I eventually did the automatic update of my SSD. Everything was done very smoothly without any problems. I even updated to 10.15.3 beta. And, surprise, after updating my SSD to Catalina 10.15.3 my second HDD started booting normally with Catalina 10.15.2. I know it sounds unbelievable but I am reporting the facts I observed. Thanks again.
  19. Hi I have no problem booting with the usb installer. AS a matter of fact, I was able to install Catalina 10.15.1 on a HDD. But the problem is that the freshly installed HDD does not boot, no matter what EFI I use. I first used the X99 EFI folder but it would not complete boot; instead it ended up with the prohibited sign. Then I used the EFI from my working usb installer but the final result was the same. After seeing this last verbose "apfs_sysctl_register:1176: done registering sysctls." then the prohibited sign appears. I have no idea what is wrong with my HDD. I even tried using the Moja
  20. Hi I tried using my usb install EFI on my HDD but I ended up with the same result: prohibited sign. Same window as the screenshot sent earlier before the prohibited sign appears. Of course, I can boot with the usb installer. Complete mystery to me. Thanks
  21. Hi Do you mean that the usb insatll EFI should work on the HDD? I tried it with no success but I will try it again. Thanks
  22. Hi What do you mean by using a working EFI folder? I tried using the EFI folder of the installation usb drive but id did not work. Do you mean using a working EFI folder from another X99 build? Thanks
  23. Hi I was able to install Catalina 10.15.1 on my build. But after following all the usual steps, installing Clover 5098, replacing the Clover folder with the X99 folder and repairing permissions, the new installation does not boot. I tried booting with and without a fake cpuid, with and without the dsdt you provided me with for my two other X 99 builds, but I always end up with the prohibited sign. I am attaching screenshots of the window visible just before the prohibited sign. Can you help, please? Thanks Beforesmall.pdf Prohsmall.pdf
  24. Hi Thanks for your reply. Here is the build: GIGABYTE GA-H87M-D3H LGA 1150 + Intel i3-4330 3,5 GHz , Realtek® GbE LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit)
