  1. That worked! It hasn't crashed at all since installing the MSI Vega 56 8GB card on Friday. Performance is better too which is great! There were several of the Vega cards available used on kijiji for the same price I paid for the new RX 580 on Amazon. Thanks for your help MaLd0n, cheers!
  2. Good, going to try and grab that this eve. I have been swapping these video cards and rebooting. Is there any advantage to installing fresh with the new card?
  3. Cool thanks! Looking at used, and found a deal on this one, any good? : MSI Video Card Radeon RX Vega 56 Air Boost 8G OC
  4. Is there another graphics card that I should try? There are a few other brands available. What would be an alternative to the Sapphire Pulse RX 580? Thanks!
  5. I'll switch back to the GTX 680 for now. Any other suggestions are welcome! thanks!!
  6. I'm currently using iMacPro 1,1. I tried MacPro 7,1 smbios yesterday and after that change it crashed overnight, and again while working today so I switched back to iMacPro 1,1.
  7. Nah, that didn't work and crashed a couple times since with the same panic. At this point should I consider a mobo/ cpu upgrade to go with the Sapphire? What would you recommend a 370 or 390? Thanks for your help with this, much appreciated!
  8. ok thank you! does this look correct? (please see screenie attached) Screen Shot 2020-07-11 at 9.10.07 AM.zip
  9. Do I add a dash to the front of the boot argument, or does that matter? Please see screenie attached, thank you! Screen Shot 2020-07-10 at 11.13.41 AM.zip
  10. Thanks I'll try adding the bootarg. Should I do that at boot time, or in CloverConfigurator in the Boot section?
  11. I’ll try it. That goes in Clover at the start screen? Should I disable csm again before trying? Thanks!
  12. Yes I did try that last week. 1. With the Sapphire, I double checked my config.plist file is updated with Inject Intel, and 0x1912001 ig-platform-id and disabled csm in bios, Intel graphics enabled. 2. System crashes randomly with artifacts for cursor and speaker white noise, just like previously since the Sapphire was first installed. 3. Changed csm back to enabled, left Intel graphics enabled, no improvement - still crashes. 3. Swapped the Nvidia GTX680 back in, with no other changes - system has NOT crashed in the last 48 hours running non-stop, and VideoProc now reports NA for hardware acceleration (see screenie). Any other ideas to try appreciated! thanks. Screen Shot 2020-07-08 at 12.45.58 PM.zip
  13. It seemed ok yesterday with csm on, and the 580 installed, but crashed overnight when I left it running (display sleep on). Then this morning it crashed a few more times. Next I installed the old Nvidia GTX 680 4GB again and I'll see if that makes a difference. The display looks quite different (more contrasty) without the HDR option on using the Sapphire 580.
  14. Thanks, I was hoping for a log of the updates. I re-enabled csm in bios and was going to put the GTX680 card back in to see if the crashing stopped, but then I noticed that my system boots ok into Catalina after turning csm on, even with the Sapphire 580 installed. I'll let it run and see if it still crashes like this.
